The Marbled Clay Shelf

Marbled clay - made of the combination of two or three contrasting clays creates an unpredictable texture that I leave raw on the outside of the vessel. The glazes picked for the interior and outer edge of the piece are designed to contrast with the marbled texture or to heighten the impact of one of the included clay bodies. These pieces exhibit the tension between smooth and rough, monochromatic glaze and multicolored clay.
